Things couldn't possibly go better for the "Ugly Betty" producer who announced she is pregnant and engaged to French businessman, Francois-Henri Pinault, her spokeswoman said Friday in a statement.
Several days ago, pictures of the Mexican-born beauty sporting what looked like a baby bump were posted all over celebrity gossip blogs sparking pregnancy rumors. The confirmation came just several days later, announcing the engagement to the father as well.
"Businessman Francois-Henri Pinault and his fiancée, Salma Hayek, are happy to announce that they are expecting the arrival of their first child," said publicist Ina Treciokas, though no date was set for either the wedding, or the due date of the couple's child.
The 40-year-old actress, who starred in movies such as "Frida," "Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over" and "After the Sunset," and her fiancé, chairman and chief executive officer of the luxury goods company Pinault-Printemps-Redoute, which owns high-end labels such as Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Balenciaga and Stella McCartney, have kept a low profile since they've been dating but did step out together last October in Rome at a gala celebrating the Pinault Foundation's Modern Art collection in the Gritti Palace in Venice.
Hayek, who received an Oscar nomination for her part in "Frida," previously dated Edward Norton and Josh Lucas.
