Mints and S'mores
The word "mint" could mean a lot of things. It could pertain to something being in good condition, the garnish, or the flavor. But the typical 'mint' is the hard candy that it comes in different shapes, styles and flavors. The mint nowadays is an ingredient that is used in a wide variety of candies from jellybeans, to chewing gum, to chocolate.

Chocolate-Cinnamon Toast: The Ultimate Comfort Food
For the chocolate-cinnamon mixture, combine 1 tablespoon
unsweetened cocoa powder, 3 tablespoons sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon
ground cinnamon in a small bowl. This will be enough for about 8 slices
of toast, so once it’s mixed together put it in a small jar with a lid and
store what you don’t use right away in the jar (tightly sealed) in a cool
cupboard.
353:
Flax Seed - Super Super Food
Mix all ingredients together in a small bowl. Turn into
oiled pie pan. Press evenly over the bottom and sides of the
pan, Bake 8 minutes. Cool before filling. Fill with
sugar-free pudding mix prepared with skim milk---or,
fill with anything that you would put in a graham cracker
crust.
354:
"Pampoenmoes" - South African food!
Not all types of pumpkin are in season and therefor available all through the year, so you have to use the one that is in season at a certain time. The most common and quickest way to prepare pumpkin is to boil it in a little bit of water, season lightly with salt and add some cinnamon. Otherwise you can mix the pumpkin with flour, salt and egg and bake "pampoenkoekies" in a little bit of oil, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and serve warm.

Food Trends for 2007 and Beyond
We will see a revival of foods that were popular in our parents and grandparent's day, however, these foods that I've labeled Vintage Cuisine will excite the palate with new twists in presentation and interpretation. The artery-clogging components will continue to be lightened up in fresh and exciting ways.
356:
Gastric Bypass - The Nightmare for Food Lovers
Meal times, snack times, gorgeous roast chicken, beans, carrots, potatoes, naughty cakes and treats are all banished after surgery. Yes you can have your roast chicken and all the normal food you enjoy now (except sweet and salty food), but how does half a cup sound, and that’s it! Your full meal could be half a cup of chicken and that’s it – no more food for that sitting.
357:
Overcoming Food Obsessions
A gluten-free, casein-free diet, known as GFCF, has become very popular among parents of autistic children. Some members of the medical community continue to be skeptical of it, but other doctors and organizations -- including those working with Defeat Autism Now (DAN) -- wholeheartedly support the GFCF diet.

Why Can't We All Just Get Along - Hurricane Katrina Food For Thought
It's been said allowing Government agencies to investigate Government agencies is like letting Dillinger guard a bank vault. What purpose does multiple investigations serve. The outcomes are very predictable Congress is going to blame the President. The President is going to blame the Congress. The State Governments are going to blame the Federal and Military bureaucracies.
359:
Finding a Fine Merchant of Wine in the USA
There's plenty of local merchants of wine and liquor all over the US. Some clearly are better than others. Again, knowing a wine snob will help you navigate the oceans of possibilities. You can also consult with a genuine sommelier at a fine restaurant for his/her preferences. Again, there's no telling if he/she has an affiliation with said establishment.

I Love Italian Wine and Food - The Apulia Region
Some say that Castel del Monte, named for a 13th Century castle, is the best-known appellation in Apulia. Of course, best known does not necessarily mean best. This particular bottle was from Bombino Nero grapes, whose unusual pyramidal form remind one of a child (Bombino or Bambino) with outstretched arms.
