Have you ever done a three-way call to a prospect that you have given a tickle call after tickle call to get them into down line? Does it go something like this? Hello Andrea, I have told you that I have the perfect opportunity for you. Andrea replies really? What is that Matt? Well Andrea hold-on let me get Bob on the phone to tell you more about it. When Bob gets on the line he goes through his two to three minute speech of why and how he got into this great organization. Then Bob goes into the opportunity and the wonderful business that he works for. All the while I have not said a word and not allowed to speak since I got Bob on the three -way call. Finally Bob asks Andrea if she has any questions.
This is a great way to build Bob's business, but not yours as a MLM business. What does a three -way call do to your MLM business? First a question is this your MLM business or is this Bob's MLM business? The answer to this question is simple it is my MLM business not Bob's MLM business. So what is the reason for the three -way calling? It is simple that is how my mother did it twenty years ago so if it worked for her then it must work for me, right? No, this technique will not work in today's MLM businesses. What this technique does to your business is simple it makes Bob "The All Knowing and Powerful." What it does to you is it says that you do not know anything about your company that you must call someone else to answer the questions that your prospect has. Would you buy a BMW from a sales person that had to call another person over to answer all your questions? No, you are not going to buy form the first sales person but the person you feel that is the better person.
The three -way calling that most MLM companies rely on is an old technique that only works very few if at all. What a three -way calling does to your image and self confidence is that it destroys it and your creditability as a leader. Why would a person signup underneath you if they know that you can't even answer their questions? Is this true that you can't answer their questions? Most likely not you have most likely spent enough time and energy finding all about your MLM Company that you surely can answer their question, but were not trained to answer them except with a three -way call with your up-line. When a person takes a job at one of the leading fast food places, that person gets extensive training on how to do their new job. You got this same type of training from your up-line and that you are simply doing the same ole thing. You must think outside of the box to get anywhere in today's MLM business world.
First thing to thinking outside the box is to stop making three -way calls with your up-line. When you show your prospect that you're the leader and not your up-line then there is a greater chance of signing that person up. Be a leader in YOUR Company not your up-line's company. A good way to do this is to research your new MLM business and find out all about it and then YOU will be able to answer your prospect's questions. Second is to register for the Power Call, this is a call that will change how you grow and expand YOUR MLM business.
