When you refuse a second helping of your favorite dessert do others try and get you to overeat? It seems that over the holidays all I do is eat. What about you? Do you feel that way also? Do you hear it is Christmas the calories you eat now can’t hurt you?
I am here to tell you that the Christmas Calories still put on the weight. After the holidays it is almost impossible to shed the extra weight. I feel right now like I have a 10 pound weight belt strapped across my stomach. It isn’t even Christmas dinner yet.
When I refused some really mouth, watering, great smelling pie the other night from a co-worker, she absolutely would not let up about me splitting the slice with her. But I stayed steady and said. "I have had enough junk I can’t eat anymore. My cholesterol is sky high and my weight is getting there."
Why can't our family and friends stand by my decision to try and slice the junk food out of my diet? Why can't they be on my side and cheer me on about the decision to dump junk food even at the holiday time of year. It is hard enough as it is.
We can refuse or make the right choices during the holidays. Or we can say, "forget it I will deal with it after January 1."
Which ever person you are enjoy the holidays with your family and friends. This time spent together is precious.
