It is a common belief that you can be healthy by simply following a diet that helps you prevent obesity. There are a lot of other factors to be considered in order to keep your body in its best shape, and following a diet is just one of them.

A simple diet is just not enough to keep your body in best condition; it also needs plenty of nutrients. You could uphold your health at its best pace by taking in healthy food in addition to nutrition. For example, a daily amount of calcium is necessary for you body. If you don’t give your body this specified amount of calcium, your blood will drop as a result of calcium deficiency.

This will in turn disturb nerve contact and delay the process of blood clotting. If this is not attended to in the early stages, the bloodstream will start to drain the calcium that makes up your bones. This results in fragile bones which is the beginning of the deadly osteoporosis.

Like calcium, vitamin intake is also vital. All the important vitamins such as Vitamins A, B-complex, C, D, E, and K are required to uphold your health. Vitamins contain antioxidants. Antioxidants battle off the unhelpful effects of free radicals (molecules that attack the cell membranes in your body) and thus help your body to remain stable. Symptoms ranging from simple chapped lips to deadly diseases such as scurvy are caused due to vitamin deficiency.

Proteins, carbohydrates and fat also play a vital role in keeping you fit hand in hand with nutrition, healthy eating, vitamins and minerals intake. Protein deficiency can result in your body being unable to repair damaged tissues, unable to create new tissue etc. Carbohydrates deficiency can leave you tired and withheld even in performing you day-to-day tasks. Likewise, a low fat level can be harmful to the body.

Now that you know about the daily nutrients, you need to take off and start exercising. Exercise not only works on your body but it also does marvels to your mind, and even gets you to a spiritual state if you pursue it for a long time.
