It looks as if Airbus is having a nervous break down and melting away as Boeing takes to the sky with more and more orders. Including potentially 10 new 747s to the Middle East. Apparently the melt down at Airbus is due to some huge blunders by executive management in trying to Super Size their aircraft and build the World Largest Passenger Airliner; the A380.
The prototype although it had a flawless flight was over production costs and delayed by over a year and all the capital improvements to make it has drained Airbus and their orders for the aircraft are also flying over to Boeing.
Airbus has made a Huge error producing the A380 Prototype and then attempting to sell them. They are now getting rid of their top management and will have to deal with the financial crisis to come. This is a huge blow to Airbus, but many industry analysts feel it is just as well because an aircraft that size is sure to be an International Terrorist target and a big one at that.
Can Airbus recover from this current problem and stalled out program? Some financial industry analysts believe that it will take a decade or more to bailout the company and return it to anywhere near its previous highs. So, is this good news for Boeing? Potentially yes, but Boeing was winning in the market place anyway long before Airbus tried to one upsmanship them with the new A-380?
Even if the Singapore orders come thru, which it does not look like they will and China orders a bunch of them, chances are it will not matter anyway, as Airbus most likely cannot produce them fast enough or enough of them to make difference. Meanwhile many of the largest airports around the world are not interested in upgrading due to the costs to be able to support these monster aircraft. So, consider all this in 2006.
