Horse racing is getting popular with more and more people turning up to watch them. This in turn has also seen a marked increase in bets being placed on horse racing. When placing bets on horse racing, it is important to identify winners or potential winners.
How does on identify a potential winner? The clue is the jockey and the trainer. A horse can be good but without an excellent trainer and jockey, the horse will not be able to perform to its potential. It is very important that you first check out the top jockeys and top trainers before thinking of placing a bet at random.
Once you have taken care of the trainer and jockey, the next thing in your agenda should be identify a good horse. Check to see whether the horse you would like to place your bet on has already won a race on that course or for the same distance. Normally, this is done by placing a letter on the right hand side of the horse’s name. The letter C denotes that the horse has won on this course before and the letter D stands for the horse winning a race at the same distance in another course. These can be good indicators. If a horse has already won a similar race, there is no reason why it cannot win again.
Remember while selecting your horse make sure that it is not for a higher class. A high class means that the horse you have selected would be racing against better horses and this will lower his chances of winning.
Now that you have selected your horse, jockey and trainer, you can go ahead and place your bet. Hopefully your horse will have and good run and finish well. There are many other factors involved when selecting a winning horse. With experience you will learn the art and trick of selecting winners. Once you are comfortable, you can always place your bets on an online sportsbook and then just sit back and enjoy the horseracing.
