The horizon EX75 Dual Action Elliptical Trainer is a product of Johnson Health Tech a Taiwan owned company that is one of the largest manufactures of fitness equipment. This elliptical trainer has a front flywheel design called a "step stack"which places the pedals below the flywheel axis. Front flywheel designs generally are not a smooth as rear flywheel models. We found that the ride was pretty good on this model. A secondary benefit to the low pedal position is the ease of getting on and off the machine.

The Horizon EX75 has a good natural stride length that will accommadate most long legged elliptical users without a problem. The resistance is relatively smooth as a result of the magnetic braking system. According to the manufacture performance is enhanced by a larger and heavier flywheel . The momentum produced keeps the handlebars and pedals action relatively smooth.

Heart rate monitoring on the EX 75 elliptical trainer is done on a second set of handles. This is a poor setup. For the money a telemetric heart monitor should have been included instead of making it an option. The option includes a compatible chest worn heart monitor. Again this is usually standard equipment on elliptical trainers that cost a $1000.00 or more.

EX75 elliptical trainers poorest feature is its computer console. Several owners have complained about the quality of the hardware. Everything from loose wiring, noisy built in fan, speakers that either do not work or are loose within the console. On the positive side we liked the number of programmable resistance levels (20) and the 10 preset workout programs included. Some the ellipticals programs will flat beat you up with a great routine.

Setting up and assembling the EX75 elliptical trainer was relative easy, however the directions were very poor. The same directions are used for two other older models the EX65 and EX55. Some critical assembly information was omitted from the text. Never the less we had it up and running in about 75 minutes. The EX75 elliptical has a smaller footprint and with the base wheels we did not have a problem moving it around. As with all elliptical trainers you must be site height conscious. They almost all require a minimum of 8 feet of overhead clearance.
